Since 2020, we’ve been modernizing one of the largest eCommerce retail platforms, transitioning to a cloud-based architecture while safeguarding operations and delivering new capabilities to meet business and consumer demands.
The client engaged jnnovate to accelerate their eCommerce transformation by transitioning from a heavily customized, monolithic SAP Commerce platform to a future-proof, cloud-based architecture. This new approach aimed to address long-standing limitations that became particularly difficult to manage during the pandemic when online sales were the sole revenue channel.
The highly decentralized structure, with each functionally focused team managing its own roadmap and priorities, posed challenges in achieving alignment and agility.
Additionally, these transformative changes had to be implemented while simultaneously delivering value to the business by introducing new capabilities and enhancing existing ones.
jnnovate brought its expertise in eCommerce technology, particularly with SAP Commerce, to streamline and decompose the client’s platform. We helped develop and execute a roadmap to transition the core eCommerce platform into a modern, composable architecture, empowering the client with greater control and agility in their digital operations.
Leveraging enterprise design patterns and guided by MACH architectural principles, key components of the legacy system were migrated to cloud-based microservices. At the same time, new microservices outside of SAP Commerce were designed and developed, accompanied by the creation of a modern frontend.
